Clinical Standards and Efficacy
Quality of care is a priority to KDF. Procedures and standards have been put in place to ensure consistent and high-quality service delivery across KDF dialysis centres and to encourage the continual education of our nurses.

Continuous Quality Improvement
96.27% of KDF patients achieved a dialysis adequacy level of 1.2 or greater.

Infection Prevention and Control Audits
Two rounds of audits were held at KDF’s four dialysis centres in September 2021 and March 2022. All centres achieved a rating of above 80%.

Safe Care for Our Patients
Two rounds of audits were held at three of KDF’s dialysis centres to ensure compliance with cleaning standards in a renal centre setting. All Housekeeping personnel achieved a rating of above 85%.

Clinical Drills
Clinical drills were conducted and assessed at KDF’s Bishan, Ghim Moh, and Kreta Ayer dialysis centres. This is to ensure that our clinical staff are adequately prepared to tackle medical emergencies in a dialysis setting.

Glucose Monitoring
An annual recertification test on glucose monitoring is conducted by the centre charge nurse to maintain staff competency.

Intravenous (IV) Administration of Medicines
Pharmacist Dr Loh Huei Xin provided IV training on pharmacology for 13 registered KDF nurses, followed by a certification exercise conducted by the Foundation.

In-Service Education
KDF conducted four CPE accredited in-service education sessions for our nurses.
